This studio focused on a design proposal for a new college building with dorms for UNM Honors College, located on the northwest corner of Central Avenue and Girard Boulevard. The 11-story 244,000 square foot building consists of an administration suite with 15 faculty offices, 5 lounging areas, capacity for 524 residential student beds, a greenhouse, and a residential master suite, among other amenities. The College design will enrich the college campus community by bringing together faculty and students through a sense of place while establishing a strong campus presence with the adjacent city streets. Ample courtyards, plazas, and green spaces open the building to the students and allow for outdoor recreations and leisure. Open interior spaces constantly generate interaction through the building's vertical elements.
