This renovation apartment complex consists of 156 one- and two-bedroom residential units spread across 16 buildings in addition to 3 laundry/utility buildings. A new office building was added onto one of the existing buildings. Originally constructed in 1963, the project had to adhere to UFAS, ICC ANSI, and ADA guidelines. Buildings were renovated in an occupied or semi-occupied state.
As the Project Manager, I led the project from the beginning of schematic design all the way through construction completion. My responsibilities included coordinating and managing the project's programming and schematic design to create a drawing package to be submitted for tax credit funding approval through TDHCA's LIHTC program. I then led the architectural team in creating a set of construction documents and submitted drawings to the City of South Houston for building permit as well as Harris County for additional project funding. Lastly, I worked with the Architect to carry the project through construction administration and closeout.
