This new construction senior housing project consists of three, three- and four-story buildings connected by common area corridors. There are 56 units consisting of efficiency, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom configurations. The 0.98 acre site also allowed for 72 parking spaces, some of which are tucked under the backside of the building. Cuatro's concept was to create small tower neighborhoods with courtyards to relate to the adjacent urban fabric of Albuquerque. The ground floor is all common area space consisting of a community room, management office, business center, food bank, exercise room, additional multipurpose rooms, bicycle, and tenant storage facilities. The central tower features a rooftop deck with BBQ areas and seating, offering views of Albuquerque and the Sandia Mountains.
I assisted the Architect and Project Manager during the schematic design phase and submission for tax credit funding by helping with the site analysis and producing drawings and images for the site. As a member of the project team, I attended neighborhood association meetings to help ensure our development was accepted by the community and met City zoning requirements. The Project Manager mentored me throughout the construction administration process which allowed me to learn project management skills to help me later manage projects of my own.
